It is an honor to be able to host the summer Super Contrail of 2008. Our club president, Charlie Henderson, has decided to pass the torch this year to us, Brent and Beth, for us to plan and execute one of the greatest traditions in bicycle training and touring in the Rocky Mountains. Join us for 8 days of bicycle bliss as we tour southern Wyoming and northern Colorado from a start and finish in Golden (no driving!).
As a tour, we traditionally maintain low rider number (15), cover costs only (<$600), are fully supported with driver and SAG along with double occupancy lodging. This tour is designed to complete your summer training for events such as Denver to Aspen or the Last Chance; but mostly it's designed to be an enjoyable week of cycling in Colorado.
This year the course will take us north to Ft. Collins, into North Park and Walden, to the beautiful Saratoga area, west into the Yampa Valley, south to Minturn and Leadville, and finally back to Denver over Loveland Pass. This includes passes we have never done before: Cameron Pass and Battle Pass on Highway 70 in southern Wyoming. The other passes are Snowy Range, Tennessee, Loveland, Fremont.
There are options for this year to provide shorter or longer ride mileages for individual riders. Optional choices have been designed in for a few days for those that desire to bag those extra miles, and to accomodate those who are seeking a "kinder and friendlier" Contrail.
The booking window for this event has been shortened so that reservations can made before June 10th. Contact Brent or Beth Myers to register or to ask questions. We look forward to hearing from you!!
