What Kind of Rider Are You?

  • R/P: Recreational (R) - For the moderate to advanced cyclist, this series will add to your riding pleasure and help you get ready for summer tours such as Ride the Rockies, Pedal the Peaks, or the Courage Classic. Performance (P) - If you are focusing on speed events such as time trials or road races, or merely like to ride in a fast group, RMCC's Performance Rides will help you train.
  • End: Endurance (End) - These training rides continually progress in distance and difficulty to prepare cyclists for longer rides such as the Triple Bypass, Denver-Aspen Classic, Grand Loop, Boston-Montreal-Boston (2004), or Paris-Brest-Paris (2007).
  • All: One ride serving as both Recreational/Performance and Endurance.
  • B: Brevet (B) - A brevet is a challenging endurance event, conducted under the auspices of Randonneurs USA (RUSA), which can be use to qualify for super-randonee events. More like a rally for well-conditioned cyclists, its distances must be completed within a specified time limit, and checkpoints and some night riding can be involved. Pre-registration is required. Brevets can be used to qualify for RAAM (Ride Across AMerica), PBP (Paris-Brest-Paris) and BMB (Boston-Montreal-Boston) ultra-marathon events. Contact John Lee Ellis for more information.
