Question: What time does the ride begin
Answer:
Saturday and Sunday club rides:
Be ready to ride on the Saturday and Sunday club rides 15 minutes before the hour. The ride will leave the parking lot on the hour. Because of the seasonal nature of the start times, the following schedule shows the start time for most Saturday and Sunday rides each month:

10:45 am: January, February, and March
08:45 am: April
07:45 am: May, June, July, and August,
08:45 am: September
09:45 am: October
10:45 am: November and December.

Please note that some Saturday and Sunday rides, particularly those starting far from the metropolitan area, such as Granby, Idaho Springs, Pine Junction, and Copper Mountain, may not start at these times. Check the ride schedule to avoid disappointment.

Brevets:
The time that a brevet begins depends on the time of year it is held and the length in kilometers of the ride. Check the brevet ride schedule

Weeknight rides:
Weeknight rides begin at 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm. Check the ride schedule for the exact time.

Question: What time does the ride end
Answer: Depending on the length of the ride, the weather, the terrain, the kind of bike you ride, the kinds of mechanical and bodily problems you may encounter, and your average rate of speed, the time it takes to complete a ride is highly variable. Checking the ride schedule for the length in miles of the ride you want to complete, dividing that by your average speed and adding the result to the start time is a good estimate.

Question: Under what weather conditions are rides canceled?
Answer: Rides will be conducted in all weather, subject to the final decision of the ride starter at the ride's starting point on the day and time of the ride.

Question: How may miles is the ride
Answer: Check the mileages in the ride schedule for the short and long rides the club plans to do. Of course, you are free to make the ride as short or as long as you like by simply riding more or less of the scheduled mileages.

Question: What is the pace of the rides?
Answer: When we have a sufficiently large turnout to ride in multiple groups, we start the ride with three groups: 20+ mph riders, 17+ mph riders, and 14+ mph riders. These groups are staggered at 30-second intervals, fastest to slowest. These speeds are for a flat course with no wind at sea level.

Question: What is the route
Answer: Check the ride schedule for a brief, but fairly detailed, description of the route. A more exact picture of the route is available by coming to the scheduled ride and checking out the map and route sheet.

Question: How do I get the printed maps and route sheets
Answer: You may get the printed map and route sheet for Saturday and Sunday rides by showing up at the ride start location at the appointed date and time and signing in. After you sign in, the ride starter will give you a map and a route sheet. Maps and route sheets for the Saturday and Sunday rides are not sent before or after a ride to anyone, whatever the reason.

Maps and route sheets are available online for brevets from the brevet ride schedule

Question: Where do I get water and food
Answer. Food and water are the responsibility of each rider. Most routes have plenty of gas stations and food marts along the way to satisfy this need. It is also possible to carry enough food and water to complete most rides without depending on outside sources. The ride starter will note those parts of the route, if any, where food and water are generally not available.

Question: Where are the regroup points
Answer: Regroup points the Club uses are noted on the map and route sheet. Other regroup points may be used on an informal basis as determined by the riders themselves:

Question: What are the essentials items I need to have with me besides my bike
Answer: Besides a bike in good working order, essential items are a helmet, food, and water. It is also an excellent idea to have a patch kit and extra tubes, a pump or CO2 cartridges, and the skill to successfully repair a flat tire. A cell phone with a willing driver on the other end is a good substitute for not having the skill and tools to fix a flat.

Question: What may I not use on the bike
Answer: You may not use headphones while you are riding your bike.
