The Rocky Mountain Cycling Club is proud to offer nine timed rides for people wanting a special challenge. You can do one, some, or all.
All rides listed are in the traditional French format (brevet style), which means that they have a mass start, checkpoints, time cards, and a check-in at the finish.
Seven kilometer rides (two 200 kilometer, two 300 kilometer, one 400 kilometer, one 600 kilometer, and one 1000 kilometer) are club events and have no charges, but membership is required for participation. These are self-supporting rides (randonneur style), meaning that most checkpoints are at convenience stores where water and nourishment are available. Contact John Lee Ellis for more information on any kilometer ride.
The Grand Loop (203 miles) and the Last Chance 1200 Kilometer Randonnée are also club events requiring membership. The club will provide support and require registration fees depending on the number of riders. RMCC breaks even on cost recovery to encourage participation.
The Joe Lookingbill Denver-Aspen Classic is RMCC's signature ride. It is open to the public and requires a registration fee but not RMCC membership. Traditional support includes aid stations and SAG vehicles.
