Brevet News

Results from last weekends very pleasant Black Forest 200K have been posted.  Also, the pre-riders for the Last Chance 1200K (Bob Barday, Mike Fox, Eric Simmons, and Susan Plonsky) are on course!  Check out the Brevets Blog for the latest updates on their ride.

Time Correction!!

This Saturday's Foothills Climbfest event will be starting at 8:00, not 9:00 as earlier indicated.  Please show up about a half hour early to get signed in.

Rides for the September 4-5 weekend

We also have the final Basil Doc's Tuesday Night Hillclimb of the year and the Wednesday Evening ride.

Need a Labor Day weekend ride?

The Foothills Climbfest, our final Challenge Series event of 2010, is coming on Saturday Sept. 4th!  This is the "long course" version of this event.  Take advantage of all of that conditioning you've built up over the summer and join us!  Get more details on the Challenge Series page.

Our new blog

Many of you have been enjoying the Brevets Blog with news and rider stories focusing on the RMCC Colorado Brevet Series.  Brent Myers has now started a second blog for everything-else RMCC.  Topics will be diverse, ranging from riding tips to birdwatching to more philosophical musings.  Check it out and add it to your bookmarks!

More on the Cascade 1200

Check out Irene Takahashi's writeup on her Cascade 1200 ride.  Thanks for sharing Irene!

Deer Creek Notice

All roads in the Deer Creek vicinity will be closed to riders not participating in the Deer Creek Challenge event on Sunday.  If you're not doing that ride, come out and join the RMCC Sunday ride out of Northglenn instead!

Ride Starter Update

We have found ride starter for this Saturday's ride.  However, we do need starters for several upcoming rides. Check out the ride schedule for other upcoming rides that need starters.

Another Record Setting Brevet!

Check out the results of Saturday's 300K Peak-to-Peak Brevet, which featured record turnout for this event.  Also, congratulations for those who have achieved Super Randonneur status for 2010!  If you're wanting to learn more about what this brevet stuff is all about or if you just looking for a big ride to finish out the summer, considering joining us for the 200K Black-Forest brevet on the 28th!

RMCC Welcomes Rack Attack

The RMCC welcomes Rack Attack as our newest sponsor.  They provide the Denver Metro area with the best in vehicle rack products, support and installation.  They carry Thule, Yakima, Saris, Wilderness Racks, RV Inno and DeWalt.  Stop by their Denver or Golden locations with your membership card or e-mail the webmaster for a coupon code to order online at Rackattack.com for a 20% discount on all parts they sell.  Rack Attack supports cycling and wants to help you get out to enjoy all Colorado has to offer!

A Word of Warning...

The Sheriff's office has been patroling Lookout Mountain and catching speeding cyclists.  The speed limit on most of this descent is 20.  Given that it's summertime, expect to see more law enforcement in general.  We encourage you to assert your right to use the roads, but don't forget that we also have to follow the rules of the road!  Save the money you would spend on a ticket and put it toward a new bike from Bike Source, a new set of wheels from Schwab, or perhaps a new house you found at the 8Z/Colorado Homefinder website!
